Honouring the Communities That Built Us: Indigenous & Rural Strength in Youth Sport
Western Canada has often carried more weight with fewer resources. Sierra Scout is committed to supporting these communities with tools that respect their realities and amplify their strengths.
Across Western Canada, some of the strongest and most resilient youth sports communities are found far from major cities. They’re in northern towns where families drive hours for a single game. They’re in Indigenous communities where sport is more than recreation — it’s culture, connection, and a source of pride passed down through generations.
These communities have always shown up for their kids. But they’ve also faced the steepest barriers: higher travel costs, fewer local programs, limited access to digital tools, and fundraising systems that were never designed with them in mind.
Sierra Scout was built to change that.
The Elevare™ platform is grounded in Prairie values and shaped through Indigenous co-design principles that honour community voice, respect local traditions, and ensure accessibility for every family. It blends digital tools with physical supports so that rural and remote communities aren’t left behind. It keeps dollars local, circulating within the same towns and Nations where young athletes grow. And it celebrates the stories, languages, and identities that make each community unique.
This isn’t about imposing a system. It’s about building one that reflects the people it serves.
Rural and Indigenous communities have carried youth sport for decades. Sierra Scout is committed to carrying some of that weight with them — with respect, transparency, and a belief that every child deserves the chance to play, no matter where they live.
